Decoration Ideas:

  • Rent large boulders and form a cave, or create a "cave" with heavy blankets and chairs. Make sure you provide child-safe lighting so the kids don’t get nervous! Include bats hung from the ceiling, as well as Batman, Robin, and The Joker or The Penquin posters around for added ambience.
  • Hang black, green, yellow, and red streamers, balloons, and Batman décor. Some places will have streamers and balloons with Batman and his friends (and enemies!) on them. Purchase Batman plates, napkins, table coverings, and service ware for your food tables. Include matchbox Batmobiles strewn around the tables, and try to have black or green serving bowls on the tables.
  • Purchase little masks and capes for all the little "Bat people" who will be joining your party! You can also include face paint if a child wants to be The Joker, or maybe a mini tux (rentable) if someone wants to be The Penquin. Make sure you remember the moniker!

Craft Ideas:
2-6 Year Olds

  • Finger paint their own Batman pictures, having them paint an action scene from a Batman cartoon in a comic book.
  • Batman cutouts! With child-safe scissors, have each child cut out different Batman figures and paste on to a large piece of construction paper, making their own Batman posters!

6-10 Year Olds

  • Using clay or Play-Doh, have the kids build their own Batcave and/or Gothic City. Provide Batmobiles and figurines to help aid in the fun!
  • Batman ornaments. It doesn’t have to be Christmas to get in the holiday mood! Buy clear plastic bulbs from your local craft store designed to be customized into homemade ornaments. Buy Batman-friendly colors of paint, as well as markers that enable the kids to draw or write their favorite Batman "things" on the ornaments.

Game Ideas
2-6 Year Olds

  • Batman puzzle races are great fun for kids of this age group! Give each child an identical puzzle, set the timer, and watch them go. Have a great prize ready for them, like their own Batman cookie to take home!
  • Batman Trivia - fun for kids of all ages! Have a list of questions (10-15) that are related to Batman. (For easier memory, have them watch a Batman video prior to the game) Have the kids raise their hands for the answers!

6-10 Year Olds

  • Using paper and a pen, distribute to each child. Have each child write down a "Batman" related question and fold in half. Have them pass the paper to the person on their right, but make sure they don’t open the paper. Next, have the kids write down the answer to the question they asked on the question they just received from their friend on their left. Afterward, have them read the question inside the paper with the corresponding answer as written on the outside. This will generate plenty of laughs!
  • Also using a piece of paper and a pen (crayons are good, too!), let the kids watch a snippet of a Batman video. Then, have them write down everything they remember from the video. Have the answers ready, and be ready to re-show the clip for clarification.

Food Ideas:

Kids love food! With too many activities and crafts, it may be difficult to incorporate too much food, but here is a easy food idea to match with the theme of the party:

Pizza designed by the kids to look like a bat or some other Batman-friendly motif. As the pizza bakes, the kids will be able to see their creations come to life! Don’t forget the breadsticks and cheese!

Incorporating just a few of these fun ideas will ensure your little guests have a fun time in the Batcave!
