If you are planning to host your own Cinco de Mayo party, then it is the perfect time to enjoy a whole host of delicious Mexican food. While Mexican food is traditionally quite spicy if you prefer a slightly less spicy taste yourself then you will be happy to know that most of the traditional dishes are very easy to prepare at home. By preparing them at home you also get the opportunity to adjust the spices according to your taste and that of your guests. Decorate your backyard or garden with bright colors, play Mexican music and serve the food buffet style for an informal party atmosphere. Ideal buffet style foods to serve are guacamole, baked tortilla chips, Mexican service, mock chicken mole, chocolate nut squares, and fresh fruit. For the adults, serve ice cold Corona with a wedge of lime, or a margarita.
