A Cookie Party To Celebrate National Cookie DayIt seems that there is an obscure holiday devoted to almost everything these days, but one that I was particularly pleased to learn about was National Cookie Day.National Cookie Day officially occurs on December 4th each year and is just close enough to the beginning of the Christmas festivities that you needn't feel horribly guilty about those extra few calories. Do guilty feelings of calorific indulgence stop you from sampling all manner of delicious sugary delights throughout the year? If so then why not allow yourself a little extra indulgence once a year by throwing a special cookie party to celebrate National Cookie Day. After all such indulgence is allowed once a year and cookie are the ultimate in winter comfort food. If you are planning on holding a cookie party, why not be adventurous and hand deliver edible cookie invitations. These are really easy to do - simply bake flat sugar cookies, in any shape you choose. Make sure to leave room for the writing though. Use colored frosting to write the invitation. This is a great fun idea but always remember to include a paper invitation too so your guests don’t forget. Asking your friends to bring cookies to the party is also a great idea. In order to avoid everyone bringing the same variety and flavor of shop bought cookie, why not assign each friend a different flavor. You could also encourage them to bake their own, then hold a 'best cookie' competition. As a special treat for children at the party you could pre-bake some gingerbread men. Leave these plain and provide a range of different colored frostings and sprinkles so that the children can decorate and create their own unique gingerbread men cookies. Cookie parties can be great fun, just use your imagination and see what happens.
