The Wright brothers who everyone knows were responsible for flight are also known to have experimented with kites in their first quests for flight. Today’s hang gliders and parachutes still have much in common with some types of kite. There are many different types of kite that you can fly for fun, and National Kite Month is just the time to do it. Whether your kite is delta shape, diamond, box, dragon, or a Para foil, all you need to be able to fly it is a medium strong wind and open space. Why not make it even more fun by gathering together a group of kite enthusiast friends. You could even invite friends who have never flown before - they will not know what they are missing! It is important to note however, when seeking an open field or other area to fly in that there are some safety elements that you should bare in mind. You should choose an area that is free from electrical pylons and is away from roads and airports. The more room you have available will mean the more line you can let out on your kite, and the more people that can fly. Once you have chosen your space, simply pack up the picnic hampers, head to the beach or public open land, and have fun flying your kites. Kite flying can be a great day out for the entire family.
