Another idea is to get red and yellow paper. Cut out the "i" insignia like the one on The Incredibles super suits. Glue it onto red paper that has been folded like a card. On the inside word the information like the top-secret mission Bob accepts in the movie: Please pay attention as this message is classified and will not be repeated. We need your help with a top-secret mission. If you accept this assignment you will need to report to (child’s home) at (time of party).
Decoration Ideas
Use The Incredibles colors which are red, yellow and black for streamers, tablecloths and balloons. Make signs with top-secret, not trespassing and so on to put on the walls. Make secret government identity folders and put them up on the wall. You can do this by getting a package of manila folders and putting pictures of different superheroes inside with a description of their powers, their location and their secret identity. Attach them to the wall with the folder opened so the inside is displayed.
Every superhero needs a mask to protect their secret identity. For this craft you will need to have white masks, stickers, and markers. Let the kids decorate their masks, then have them wear them at the party.
6-10 year olds: Escape the Island Rocket
The Incredibles need to escape the island to save the city from Syndrome, but they need a way to escape and get their fast. The perfect solution; a rocket. For this craft, the kids will make and decorate their own rockets. For the craft you will need, straws, balloons, tape, paper towel tubes, construction paper, and Incredibles stickers. For younger kids you may want to make the rocket before the party and just have them decorate them. To make the rocket tape the straw to the rocket, then cut a circle out of paper. Make a straight cut to the center of the circle so that a cone can be made for the top of the rocket. Tape the cone to the rocket. Have the kids then make fins for their rocket and decorate it. As a fun activity to go along with this craft you can have the kids race their rockets. To do this you will need to attach one end of a long piece of string to the back of a chair. Attach the rocket to the string by threading the string through the straw. Get a balloon and blow it up. With tape attach the balloon to the rocket without letting the air out. Set up two of these racing stations. When the kids are ready to race let go of the balloon and the air will push the rocket across the string.
Game Ideas
2-6 year olds: Super Obstacles
Have a number of these activities based on The Supers super powers set up for the kids to do. Frozone’s Ice Relay: Have the kids carry a piece of ice on a spoon from one bucket to another bucket on the other side. Whichever team gets the most in their other bucket in a certain amount of time winds.
Dash’s Dash for School: Explain to the kids that they are Dash and they are late for school. At the opposite end have a book bag, lunch bag and a couple of books. The kids need to run to the other end fill their book bag then run back, and empty the book bag. Have the race be timed and give the fastest kid a prize.
Elastigirls Incredible Jump: Have the kids jump from a starting point and measure the jumps. The kid that jumps the farthest gets a prize.
Bank Robber Round Up: Have fake money hidden throughout the party area. Tell the kids robbers have stolen money from the bank and hid the money. The kids go out and find the money and bring it back to the police.
6-10 year olds: The Secret Password
The secret password in the movie is Kronos, but you can choose another word if you would like. Write the word on a poster board. On the back have a map of where Syndrome’s Secret Island is. Make the map so that the kids can figure out where the "island" is in the party area. At the ending point hide their goody bags. Cut the poster board out into puzzle pieces. Give each child a piece. Then have them put the password together. Once they get it put together tape the pieces together so that you can turn it over. Explain that the map shows them how to get to the island and a surprise. Have them follow the map to their goody bags.
Food Ideas
Frozone’s Popsicles: To make this delicious treat get some punch and pour it into ice cube trays. Put them in the freezer. After a couple of hours remove the ice cube trays and put small Popsicle sticks in the cubes.
