Tarzan and Jane will have nothing on you as you host a great Jungle Party at your home. With everything from rope swings to artichoke appetizers, you will be in great shape to help your guests enjoy a great time in your jungle!
Your invitation should exemplify the theme of your party. Some great Jungle Party invite ideas include:

Scavenger/Treasure Hunt "press kits". These would include some items your guests might need for a good Treasure hunt, including a map, a compass, binoculars, disposable camera, beef jerky, etc.
Regardless of the theme in which you choose, your guests will find your Jungle Party a unique and fun way to involve the entire guest list.
Decoration Ideas:
Decorating for your Jungle Party will differ depending on where you choose to have it and the activities that are in store. Some ideas include:
Jungle Safari Pith Helmets. Use these for your guests if you choose to have a more interactive party, or use them as table decorations along with binoculars, cameras, and stuffed tigers, lions, jackals, monkeys, and other jungle animals.
Jungle whistles, straws, yo-yo’s, "animal" sippers, and even a monkey piñata can be found at "Kid’s Parties by Lori". While Lori focuses on kid’s parties, she has great decorations that can still be used at adult-themed Jungle Parties. (You decide what you put in the animal sippers!)
Camoflaugue table ware, including napkins, plates, cups, and table cloths as well as "Hot Wheels" or "Monster Truck" Jeeps are a great way to carry your Jungle Theme throughout your home. You could also dig up some old Gi-Joe’s or Jungle-Themed lunch boxes to provide your guests with a take home party favor filled with goodies.
Activity Ideas:
Jungle Parties can include a wide range of activities to ensure all guests have a great time in your jungle. Some key ideas include:
A "progressive" party is a great way to involve your guests in your Jungle Party. Armed with disposable camera, compass, and binoculars, have guests start their "Trip through the Jungle" at your local Rock Climbing center, allowing guests to enjoy rock climbing with the security of on-site instructors and equipment. From there, your party goers can go hiking at a local state park with trails. Give your guests maps in advance and encourage them to see how finishes the hike the quickest. From there, guests should end at your home for a relaxing evening of jungle-type music (or at least themed such as "Jungle Mad" or "Welcome to the Jungle"), food, and laughter. Enjoy the pictures after turning them in at a one-hour photo place.
Old Tarzan and Jane, King Kong, or other old black and white jungle re-run movies are a unique activity for people to enjoy. People love to relax after a long week of work, and to kick back and watch these as well as re-run cartoons of Tarzan and Jane or even The Lion King or The Jungle Book can be great fun for all adults.
Treasure/Scavenger Hunt. Enlist local retailers, neighbors, and others to help you provide your guests with a great evening of fun. Give your guests a map and a list of items they need to find on the Scavenger Hunt. They should also bring a Polaroid camera so they can take pictures of places you may send them, such as "The Cactus Grill" or other jungle-related items found in your local area.
Camp! Why not take it all the way to the jungle and have a one-night camp out, including s’mores, hot dogs, campfire stories, and even a guitar with music if one of your friends is musically inclined.
Food Ideas:
Jungle food can include a variety of palate pleasing items, including:
Hot dogs, Brats, and Burgers, seasoned with GrillMates seasonings
Fresh Caesar salad with either blackened steak or salmon
Macaroni or Potato Salad*
Chips or pretzels/ Veggies and dip
S’mores (real) or S’more dessert*
"Aunt Greta’s Potato Salad"(A twist from your typical potato salad)
8 Potatoes, boiled with skins. Peel skins off cooked potatoes once cooled.
4-6 hard-boiled eggs, cold
1 tsp garlic salt (to taste)
1 standard-sized jar low fat/fat free Hellmann’s Mayo
1 Green Pepper, diced
1 Celery stalk, diced
1 C sliced green olives with pimentos
Mash potatoes and eggs together. Fold in mayonnaise until thick and creamy. Add in celery, green peppers, olives, and garlic salt. Mix thoroughly. Chill for about 1 hour before serving for best taste. If desired, include a dash of pepper or minced garlic.
S’more Dessert
Take a 13x9 in pan, grease with Pam cooking spray or light butter.
Take crushed graham crackers mixed with 1 TSP cinnamon and coat bottom of pan. Put in refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
Melt marshmallows and mix with 1 block of semi-melted low fat/fat free cream cheese and 1 C of powdered sugar. Mix well and spread over the top of the graham cracker crust.
Melt dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips or Hershey bars in a pan on the stove on low heat. Drizzle over top of cream cheese mixture and return to refrigerator to cool. Serve cold with additional Hershey bars if desired.
