Decoration Ideas
- Purchase table décor including table cloth, balloons, plates, napkins, serviceware, etc, to set your table apart. Include a Thomas Train set that goes around the middle of the table (size permitting). If your table is smaller, have Thomas stationed in the center or at each end.
- Purchase Thomas Conductor hats for each child, and adorn them as they enter the house for the party. Encourage the kids to wear their overalls and boots for full effect. (Make sure to take a picture as a souvenir to take home to Mom and Dad)
- Hang Thomas the Tank posters along with extra conductor hats and whistles around the room. If possible, use a huge Thomas tablecloth for the kids to jump through when they walk through the door!
Craft Ideas2-6 Year Olds
- Using Thomas stickers and markers, have the kids draw their best Thomas Train on a piece of colored construction paper. Make sure they leave room in the middle, and glue their picture in the middle. Make sure Mom or Dad gets the new picture of their little conductor!
- Buy Thomas stencils and paint sponges. Have the kids create their own thank you card using the stencils and paint sponges along with card stock paper, paint, and markers!
6-10 Year Olds
- Purchase train sets made out of letters for each guest of the party. Have them each paint their own names, and set aside to dry. Each child should also be able to paint their own engine and caboose!
- Give each child colored heavy cardstock paper, markers, crayons, and child-safe scissors. Have them draw their own Thomas Trains, and then cut them to make a puzzle! Give each child a Thomas bag to take their puzzles home in.
Game Ideas2-6 Year Olds
- Purchase the Thomas Tic Tac Toe game - fun for all ages!
- Thomas Giant Floor puzzle - buy 2 of these, and have a race to see which team is able to put the puzzle together first. Whoever finishes first (accurately!), wins!
6-10 Year Olds
- Build the largest Thomas the Tank engine train set. Have all your guests bring their train sets (with names, of course), and see how big a train track you can build. Take a picture and send it to TYCO to see if you might win a prize from them!

Food Ideas
Kids love food! With too many activities and crafts, it may be difficult to incorporate too much food, but here is an easy food idea to match with the theme of the party:
Pigs in a blanket (with or without cheese), and mac ‘n cheese. Most kids love them, and they are very easy to make! What a great way to fill their tummies with real "working man’s food"!
